Privacy Policy
How information given to MedicareMinis is collected, used, kept and shared, set out in plain wording.
MedicareMinis does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Information Collected
Information reaches MedicareMinis in two ways. Some of it is handed over on purpose, through a signup form or a message sent from the contact page. The rest is gathered automatically by the systems that serve the site.
- Details entered into a form, such as first name, last name, email address, phone number and the account password.
- The content of any message sent through the contact page, including the subject line chosen for it.
- Technical records created by a visit, such as browser type, device type, approximate region and the pages opened.
- Consent selections made at signup, stored so that the choices recorded can be honored later.
Sensitive medical records are never requested through this site. A question can describe a situation in general terms without naming diagnoses or treatment history.
How Information Is Used
Information given to MedicareMinis is used to answer what was asked and to keep an account working as expected. It is not repurposed for anything unrelated to those tasks.
- Replying to a submitted question and following up where a reply needs more detail.
- Creating and maintaining an account, including resetting a password when a request comes in.
- Sending service messages about a submitted inquiry, where that consent was given.
- Sending Medicare related updates and plan information, where marketing consent was given.
- Understanding which topics readers open most, so that the writing stays useful.
Text Message Consent
Text message consent is optional and separate. Service messages and promotional messages are handled as two different permissions, and either one can be given without the other.
Message frequency varies with the activity on an account. Standard message and data rates set by a mobile carrier may apply. Replying STOP to any message ends further texts to that number, and replying HELP returns support information.
Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of using this site or of accessing any of the reading on it.
Cookies and Site Data
Small files stored by a browser keep a session signed in and remember display preferences between visits. Measurement files count how often a page is opened, without attaching a name to that count.
Browser settings can block or remove these files at any time. Blocking them does not close off the reading, though a signed in session may need to be started again on each visit.
Sharing With Others
Personal information is shared only where it is needed to run the site or where the law requires it.
- Service providers that host the site, deliver email or deliver text messages, limited to what their task requires.
- Legal or regulatory bodies, where a valid request or a legal obligation applies.
- A successor organization, if ownership of the site ever transfers, under the same commitments set out here.
No arrangement exists under which contact details are supplied to outside parties for their own marketing.
How Long Information Is Kept
Account information stays while the account remains open. Messages sent through the contact page are kept long enough to answer them and to follow up on anything left unresolved.
Once information is no longer needed for those purposes, it is deleted or reduced to a form that no longer identifies anyone. Records tied to a legal obligation are held for as long as that obligation lasts.
Security Measures
Traffic between a browser and the site travels over an encrypted connection. Access to stored information is limited to what is needed to keep the site running, and passwords are stored in a hashed form rather than as plain text.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute safety cannot be promised. Choosing a strong password and keeping it private remains an important part of the protection.
Choices and Rights
Several controls are available at any time, and using them does not affect access to the reading on this site.
- Ask for a copy of the personal information held about an account.
- Ask for a correction where a stored detail is wrong or out of date.
- Ask for an account and its associated information to be deleted.
- Withdraw text message or email consent, either through a reply keyword or through a request.
Requests can be made using the contact details at the end of this notice.
Use By Minors
This site is meant for adults aged eighteen or older, since Medicare topics concern adult coverage decisions. Accounts are not knowingly opened for anyone below that age.
If information belonging to a minor turns out to have been submitted, it is removed once identified.
Changes To This Notice
This notice is revised when the site changes or when a legal requirement shifts. The revision date at the top of the page always shows when the current version took effect.
Continuing to use the site after a revision means the updated notice applies.
